Jan Wozniak, MA, APPA is a multidisciplinary scholar, neurodevelopmental
professional, and certified philosophical counsellor currently completing his Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. In his counselling practice, Jan uses a holistic process that is client-centred and strength-based, incorporating insight from Eastern and Western philosophy, psychology, social work, and the arts. This framework ensures that Jan and his clients select accessible tools, resources, and mediums that resonate and support their individual needs. He often utilizes a DBT-informed approach to help clients address difficult questions, work through challenging thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and make well-informed decisions that support their goals and overall well-being.

Jan serves as a Clinical Researcher and Program Engagement Co-Facilitator at the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), where he is working to improve virtual interventions and programming for Canadians with developmental disabilities and their families, including the advancement of neurodiversity-affirming mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy. Additionally, over the past five years, Jan has supported teaching, mentoring, tutoring, and student learning initiatives in various departments at Toronto Metropolitan University. He also routinely co-delivers mindfulness workshops with Mindful Society Global Institute. In his spare time, he’s usually running or cycling, working away on a creative manuscript, or enjoying some quiet time out in nature.

Jan is providing sliding scale rates for psychotherapy under the supervision of our team. While we suggest a rate of $75/session, we are also accepting a Pay-What-You-Can fee.

Favourite DBT Skill

"I find Wise Mind to be an invaluable anchor and guide in daily life, recognizing the need to connect with and synthesize our rational and emotional dimensions. Through practice, we can learn to respond to challenges with a greater sense of clarity and compassion. In a world where we are constantly navigating complexity and change, Wise Mind empowers us to check in with ourselves, recognize our immediate reactions, and assess constructive ways to engage with others. I appreciate this awareness skill not only for the grounding and balance it brings to my personal and professional life but also for its transformative potential with clients.
